About PNAAU

ABOUT PACIFIC NORTHWEST AAU

Pacific Northwest AAU was started in the early 1900s and covers most of Western Washington, from the Canadian border south to Chehalis. PNAAU had over 16,000 members involved in multiple sports in 2018-2019. With most of its members found in youth basketball, countless prominent players have participated at one time or another in PNAAU. Isaiah Thomas, Spencer Hawes, Kate Starbird, Rodney Stuckey, Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, and Brandon Roy all graced the AAU hardwood at one time or another. With so much history in basketball, PNAAU is currently working to build membership among the 34 other sports it offers hoping to add new names to the list.

Sports For All, Forever

The AAU was founded in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. During its early years, the AAU served as a leader in international sport representing the U.S. in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games. The Pacific Northwest AAU is proud to be part of the AAU network. The PNAAU encompasses Washington, west of but not including Chelan, Kittitas, Okanogan and Yakima Counties and north of but not including Cowlitz, Klickitat and Skamania Counties.
