This is the 22nd year for the AAU Reno Memorial Day Basketball Tournament.  This is the original Reno basketball tournament that started it all.  We even have one coach that has only missed one year in this 22 year history of the boys’ basketball tournament.   This is a great indication of the quality of the tournament.   Teams have travelled from all across the US to enter the tournament, but it if primarily teams from the western half of the United States and Canada.

We have worked hard to keep it affordable to a great many teams and have kept the entry fee at a very reasonable $325.  This is much less than many other tournaments and unheard of for a tournament of this caliber.

Reno is a fun place for the whole family with the different venues for all ages.  The many amusement parks, hotels and resorts offer bungee jumping, miniature race cars, putt-putt golf, all sorts of carnival rides, driving range, rock climbing, para-sailing, free carnival acts, fly-fishing, hang gliding, kayaking, rafting, boat cruises, a giant sling-shot, carnival games and so much more.  This list doesn’t even mention the varied and fun museums, parks, planetarium, and science center.  Then, as we all know, there are plenty of activities to keep the over 21 crowd busy.   So it is a fun and very affordable vacation for the whole family.

Since we are in our 22nd year of putting on this tournament, we have it down.  You will not have schedule changes and games that move around.  This is a first class event and it is run like one.  You will play your basketball game on quality courts (the vast majority will be high school gyms).  We hire quality referees from all over the western United States.  There will not be surprises when you get to the gym, like parking fees.  We do offer tournament passes, so you can afford to have the whole family watch the games. Our website offers you a map for all the venues as well as the ability to get precise directions from your hotel to the gym.  We do not enter our own teams in the tournament so you can be sure that there will not be a favored draw.

There are awards and AAU medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.  Each division will have a MVP award for a deserving player.
