In Feb. 2010, Sports Illustrated did an extensive article about the many players that have come out of Western Washington and are currently playing the NBA.  One of their outstanding characteristics has been their eagerness and dedication to mentoring the younger talents through high school and college programs.   Several of the current players, Brandon Roy for one, have sponsored local teams to play in the many AAU tournaments and leagues.  Seattle and its environs have produced the fifth most NBA draft picks since 1999.   Twelve players have been selected in the first round and there have been four selected in the second round.   All, but one, of them are still playing in the NBA.    This outstanding basketball success can be directly attributed to the exceptional local Boys Basketball programs that are run in the area through the Pacific Northwest AAU.
